Loan Forgiveness for ECE Educators and ECMH Consultants – Application NOW OPEN!
This application will close on June 15, 2022, with a distribution of funds starting in July 2022. Applicants may receive up to $5,000 in Federal Loan Forgiveness annually. This is a two-year program. Applicants must re-apply for program consideration each year. With limited funds, not every applicant will receive loan forgiveness.

ECE educators and early childhood mental health consultants can now apply for loan forgiveness
Full-time birth through five ECE educators, directors, and support staff (who may or may not have educator licensure) living and working in a licensed childcare program in Colorado and early childhood mental health consultants living and working in Colorado may receive up to $5,000 in federal student loan forgiveness annually. Priority will be given to those early in their career and bilingual professionals. This first round of applications closes June 15, 2022. With limited funds, not all who apply will receive the award. This is a two-year program. Applicants must re-apply annually to be considered.
This program is a partnership between the Office of Early Childhood within the Colorado Department of Human Services and the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Additionally, financial wellness support, including help navigating the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program, counseling to find the best student loan repayment strategy for your situation and more, will be made available free of charge to up to 3,000 program applicants through tuition.io.

Temporary Educator Loan Forgiveness (TELF) Program Application Open

House Bill 22-1220 created the Temporary Educator Loan Forgiveness Program for K-12 licensed educators and counselors working and living in Colorado. The application is open through June 15, 2022. This program is using the same application as the Colorado Educator Loan Forgiveness program. To apply, educators should submit the initial interest survey. Then they will receive a link to fill out the detailed part of the application within 72 hours. If they previously submitted an interest survey, please contact edloanforgiveness@tuition.io to have the link re-sent.
Priority will be given to applicants early in their career and working in rural Colorado (or) in a content-shortage area anywhere in Colorado. Applicants will be eligible for up to $5,000 in loan forgiveness annually. This is a 2-year program. Applicants must re-apply in the second year to be considered for an award in that cycle. Applications submitted for consideration of the Educator Loan Forgiveness program between Dec 15, 2021 – April 15, 2022 will be reviewed for eligibility for this program as well. There is no need to submit another application.
